Plants medium-sized, pale green to yellowish green, in loose mats. Stems prostrate, densely irregularly branched; branches ascending, usually simple, julaceous, attenuate at tips when dry, sometimes with flagelliform branchlets. Stem leaves slenderly triangular-lanceolate, ca. 1.5 mm long, plicate; margins plane, sometimes recurved, serrate or serrulate above, entire below; costae slender, reaching to 2/3–3/4 the leaf length; median leaf cells 35–50 µm × 4.0–5.0 µm; alar cells and basal cells differentiated across the leaf base, quadrate to shortly rectangular, somewhat thick-walled, not hyaline; branch leaves narrowly ovate or ovate-lanceolate, slenderly acuminate, 2–3-plicate. Perichaetia on branches; perichaetial leaves narrowly lanceolate. Setae straight, smooth; capsules erect, elongate-ovoid to shortly cylindrical, brownish; opercula long conic-rostrate; annuli developed; exostome teeth linear-lanceolate, reddish brown, smooth below, coarsely papillose above; endostome segments reduced; basal membrane high; cilia absent. Calyptrae cucullate, hairy. Spores 13–15 µm in diameter, finely papillose.
