Plants slender, yellowish green or dark green. Stems creeping, irregularly or subpinnately branched, sometimes with flagelliform branches at branch tips; branches erect or curved, ca. 0.5 cm long, bluntly shortly acuminate or acuminate. Stem leaves and branch leaves similar, ovate-lanceolate or shortly ovate-lanceolate, concave, shortly acuminate or acuminate, 1.0–1.4 mm × 0.40–0.55 mm; margins plane or slightly recurved, entire or serrulate; costa double, somewhat thick, rarely single or branched, ca. 1/3–1/2 the leaf length; median and upper leaf cells hexagonal or narrowly rhombic, 20–30(–40) µm × 4–6 µm, smooth or sometimes prorate; alar cells numerous, quadrate, obscure. Dioicous. Inner perichaetial leaves narrowly ovate-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, margins entire or serrulate, costae double, ca. 1/2 the perichaetial leaf length. Setae ca. 1.0–1.5(–2.0) cm long, yellowish brown or reddish brown, sometimes purple; capsules horizontal, 1.5–2.0 mm × 0.6–0.8 mm, oblong-ovoid, curved, constricted at mouth when dry; opercula conic, shortly rostrate; peristome perfect, double, with 1–3 cilia. Spores 13–17 µm in diameter, minutely papillose.
