Plants large to rather robust, yellowish green. Stems creeping, irregularly to subpinnately branched; branches about 1.0 cm long. Leaves erect, ovate- to oblong-lanceolate, shortly or gradually acuminate, 1.2–1.7 mm × 0.40–0.65 mm, concave; margins plane, rarely incurved at base, subentire; costa double, short, sometimes indistinct; median and upper leaf cells narrowly rhomboidal, 40–60(–70) µm × 4–6 µm, thin-walled, smooth; alar cells numerous, quadrate, in 4–7 rows, obscure, with 15–25 cells extending along the margins. Autoicous. Inner perichaetial leaves oblong-lanceolate, shortly acuminate, nearly entire, costa indistinct. Setae about 1.8 cm long, yellowish brown or reddish brown, twisted; capsules horizontal, ca. 1.8 mm × 0.8 mm, curved, yellowish brown, strongly constricted when dry; perfect double peristome, with 1–2(–3) cilia; opercula conic, shortly rostrate. Spores ca. 10–14 µm in diameter, smooth.
