Plants small, dark green or yellowish green, rigid or delicate. Stems prostrate, irregularly branched. Stem leaves erect, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 1.0–1.5 mm long, slightly curved, gradually acuminate; costae single, thick at base, ca. 30–70 µm wide, extending to leaf apex, sometimes shortly excurrent; median leaf cells rhomboidal or elongate-rhomboidal, 15–18 μm × 5–8 μm; basal cells at insertion inflated, yellowish, often oblate or shortly rectangular; branch leaves curved, lanceolate, ca. 0.5–0.8 mm long. Sporophytes not seen.
