Branches in fascicles of 4–5, with 2–3 spreading. Branch leaves 1.5–2.0 mm × 0.8–0.9 mm, large, oblong ovate-lanceolate, appressed at leaf base, reflexed or sub-squarrose in the upper part, gradually narrowed and involute to a blunt, denticulate apex; borders differentiated; hyaline cells narrowly rhomboidal, mostly with membrane pleats and somewhat fibrillose, with a few large, rounded, unringed pores near leaf base and margins on the ventral surface, with numerous half-elliptic, ringed pores in commissural rows and a few large, rounded pores in opposite pairs on the dorsal surface; green cells in cross section triangular, exposed on the ventral surface, enclosed by hyaline cells on the dorsal surface. Dioicous. Perichaetial leaves large, ovate-lanceolate; hyaline cells broadly rhomboidal, often divided, withour fibrils and pores. Spores yellowish, roughly papillose, 19–21 µm in diameter.
