J. Hattori Bot. Lab. 33: 351. 1970. Plagiothecium splendens var. brevirameum Cardot, Bull. Soc. Bot. Genève, ser. 2, 4: 384. 1912. Type: Japan. Kuroishi, Pref. Aomori, Faurie 56.
Plagiothecium euryphyllum var. brevirameum differs from P. euryphyllum var. euryphyllum by its more or less julaceous leafy branches, nearly symmetric, more distinctly concave, broader leaves (to 1.5 mm wide), and weakly decurrent leaf bases.
