Plants green to yellowish brown, somewhat glossy, in mats. Stems 2–3-pinnately branched, branches long and slender, slightly plane. Stem leaves erect, oblong-ovate, ca. 1 mm long, concave, often abruptly constricted into a short filiform acumen, 170–225 mm long, weakly toothed, constricted at base; leaf margins plane or involute, weakly toothed above; branch leaves small, narrower than stem leaves at base, concave, shorter than stem leaves at apex, acumina 100–160 mm long; leaf cells linear to fusiform, 75–135 mm long, thin-walled, gradually becoming shorter towards apex, oblong and thick-walled near base; alar cells few, inflated, hyaline or slightly yellowish, with a large and thin-walled decurrent cell. Inner perichaetial leaves lanceolate, ca. 2 mm long, acuminate, serrate or serrulate. Setae smooth, ca. 1.75 mm long; capsules inclined, oblong-ovoid or subcylindrical, ca. 2 mm long, slightly arcuate, exothecial cells with longitudinally thickened walls.
