Plants slender, yellowish green, slightly glossy, rarely regularly branched, with slender branchlets. Stem leaves broadly spreading, slightly squarrose-recurved, broadly round-ovate, plicate, ca. 1.0 mm × 0.9 mm, acute at apex, broadly decurrent at base; margins sharply serrate above; costae double, usually elongate; branch leaves smaller; median leaf cells linear, 25–35 µm × 3–4 mm; alar cells numerous and enlarged. Inner perichaetial leaves lanceolate, slightly squarrose-recurved above, up to 2 mm long. Setae slender, 2–3 cm long; capsules erect, oblong, symmetrical, 1.2–1.6 mm × 0.6–1.0 mm; opercula conic, obtuse at tips, 0.3–0.4 mm high; exostome teeth linear-lanceolate, ca. 0.4 mm long, yellowish brown, densely striate below, papillose above; endostome segments linear, as long as the teeth, perforated, papillose; basal membrane high; cilia lacking. Spores spherical, finely papillose, 25–35 µm in diameter.
