Notes     (Last Modified On 5/6/2009)
general taxon notes:
This species is characterized by the complanate, oblong-ovate, and shortly acuminate leaves with reddish, purple color, and the twisted brood bodies. Iwatsuki (1987) placed Pseudotaxiphyllum in the Plagiotheciaceae based on the presence of brood bodies, differentiated annuli, dioicous sexual condition, and the absence of pseudoparaphyllia.
