Notes     (Last Modified On 5/5/2009)
general taxon notes:

Cratoneuron filicinum var. atrovirens differs from C. filicinum var. filicinum by its strong, thick costae that are shortly excurrent, ending in stout, cuspidate apices. The type specimen of C. taihangense is characteristic of C. filicinum var. filicinum in the young plants, while it shows the morphology of C. filicinum var. atrovirens in the older plants within the same collection. We believe that C. taihangense should be regarded as a synonym of C. filicinum var. filicinum.
