Description Straggling tree up to 3 m tall and 5 cm dbh. Leaves nearly decussate and not spirally arranged. Stems zig-zag and exfoliating. Bracts and inflorescences green. Flowers green, not fragrant. Petals reflexed with age. Disc green and secreting shiny nectar. Filaments white, anthers red brown. Veins lighter than blade above, darker than blade below. Silica gel and pickled samples. Vernacular name: Sakaimbolovo (also used for Erythroxylum platycladum Bojer and E. nitidulum Baker).
Locality Mandena Forest Station. Parcel M7. About 15 km NNE of Fort-Dauphin. Littoral forest on white sand. Degraded moist vegetation. Collected with R. Ranaivojaona, F. Randriatafika, J. Rabenantoandro, C. Davidson & S. Cristoph. Specimens preserved in alcohol.
