Description Contorted shrub to c. 2 m tall; bark pale grey. Leaves from very short side shoots of distichous bract-like leaf bases; (4)5 pairs of pinnae; leaflets sage green, finely white-pubescent, with yellowish margins, similar above and beneath. Flowers in 1 or 2 heads from short shoots; heads 10 mm in diameter; lower few flowers cream with white, contorted stamen filaments (no anthers); most flowers with cream filaments and bright yellow anthers and white protruding styles. Pods cylindrical, in small clusters, pendulous, grey-green.
Locality Cap Sainte Marie, around lighthouse on headland. Exposed limestone headland, very windswept, with a covering of prostrate or mound-forming short shrubs, with open gravelly areas. Common.
