Description Spreading, umbrella-shaped or domed shrub with thick twigs forming a dense cover. Leaves with a single pair of pinnae, each with 2 or 3 pairs of leaflets; leaflets deep green with a glaucous bloom above, grey-green beneath. Inflorescences erect, hemispherical, c. 2.5-2.8 cm in diameter, creamy white, with a sweet/foetid scent; flowers c. 14 mm long; corolla creamy green, with 4 or 5 spreading lobes; stamen filaments white with minute yellow anthers. pods pale creamy brown, softly pubescent, pendulous, moniliform, with c. 4-7 seeds, each seed in an ellipsoidal segment strongly constricted between; seeds ellipsoidal, dark olive green to chestnut brown, with very small areoles.
Locality c. 1 km north of Itampolo, near the coast. On white sand dunes immediately behind the beach, one of the first stabilising species, frequent.
